On the face of it, Craps can seem a complicated game - what with all those ways of betting! That's why you should spend a few minutes studying the rules and betting options first. Craps is all about tossing a couple of dice and betting on their outcome. To start you make a Come Out throw and look to get the winning numbers of 2, 3, 7, 11, or 12. Should you get 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10, this is called a Point and it allows you to roll again.
How is the Craps table organized? It has two identical sides where you find Pass and Don't Pass line bets; Come and Don't Come bets; Odds bet; Place bets and Field bets. You place your Proposition bets in the center of the table.
Winning/losing plays
Pass Bets / Don't Bets - When you make a Pass Bet on your Come Out bet, you win when you roll 7 or 11. Losing numbers are 2, 3, or 12. In the reverse situation of Don't Bet, it is the 2 or 3 that wins and the 7 or 11 that loses. If you roll 12, this is called the Don't Bets Tie - it lets you roll again.
Types of bets
Pass Line Bet - Rolling 7 or 11 is a 'Natural Win' and 2, 3, or 12 is a 'Natural Loss' (also called Craps). When you fix the Point on the Pass Line you can make a Come Bet .
Odds on Pass Line Bet - Having the Point allows you to make another bet. Choosing the Come Bet and not the Pass Line Bet is called the Odds on Come Bet . If you wish, you can choose the Don't Come Bet , where you win on 2 or 3 and lose on 7 or 11.
Place Bets - A Place bet is when you fix the Point and then get 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10.
Field Bets - Here you bet 'all or nothing' on one dice roll - which should be 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 or 12. Big Six, Big Eight Bets - You gamble that you will roll a 6 or 8 before a 7, in return for 1:1 odds.
